Sports Fans Coalition unveiled a “Just Playoff” campaign last week by announcing a national fan petition calling on President Obama to live up to his promise to help bring about a college football playoff to replace the current Bowl Championship Series (BCS) system. The petition drive will soon evolve into individual college campus petitions asking university leaders to support a playoff.

“It’s time for President Obama to live up to his word to “throw [his] weight around” and help bring about a college football playoff,” said Brian Frederick, executive director of the Sports Fans Coalition.  “The BCS system is clearly corrupt and unethical.”

The petition asks Obama to convene a group of top educational and sports leaders to solve the mess that is the BCS.  In the coming weeks, Sports Fans Coalition will be teaming with Change.org to promote individual petitions on every NCAA Division I-A (FBS) university campus.  The school petitions will call for the leaders of each campus to pledge their support for a college playoff.
